Man robbed while walking on bike path on Madison's east side

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are searching for two suspects after an armed robbery that occurred just after midnight on Madison's east side.

A 19 year-old Madison man was walking on the bike path near the 2600 block of Saint Paul Avenue when he was approached by two men wearing handkerchiefs over their faces. One of the men displayed a handgun and told the victim to empty his pockets. After robbing the victim of a wallet and a cell phone, the suspects fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle. The victim was not injured.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a tan jacket with blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a black man in his late teens, about 5'10", around 175 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black pullover shirt.
