WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKOW) -- The White House says new job numbers will show the President's economic stimulus plan has directly created or saved about 650,000 jobs.
A government oversight board will release the numbers later Friday, and White House Economic Adviser Jared Bernstein says officials have been told the figures.
Berstein says when adding in jobs linked to the $288 billion dollars in tax cuts, the stimulus plan has created or saved more than 1 million jobs.
The job numbers cover a huge swatch of spending by state and local governments, businesses and universities that received federal aid.
