Doyle, Baldwin attend Fort Hood memorial service

KILLEEN, Texas (WKOW) -- Governor Jim Doyle is in Texas Tuesday to honor the victims and families of last week's Fort Hood attack.

In a statement sent Tuesday, Doyle offered his condolences to the families of those killed, including two soldiers from Wisconsin: 51-year-old Capt. Russell Seager of Mount Pleasant and 29-year-old Amy Krueger of Kiel. Four other Wisconsin troops were injured.

“The tragic events at Fort Hood continue to be a real shock to the people of Wisconsin,” Doyle said. “It is a terrible tragedy for all of us, particularly for those families who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Our prayers are with all the affected families and we are incredibly thankful for the service of their loved ones.”

U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin is also attending the memorial service.
