"St. George Bomber" arrested in Wisconsin for domestic abuse charges

WIND LAKE (WKOW) -- A man arrested for a string of Utah bombings back in the 1990's has been arrested in south eastern Wisconsin for domestic abuse.

Sean Riker, 41, was arrested in Racine County after his wife and children went to the Sheriff's Department to report they were being abused by him.

Deputies barricaded Riker's street Tuesday afternoon and took him into custody without incident. Police say a sawed-off shotgun was recovered in the home.

Formal charges are expected Thursday.

Court records show that in 1997 Riker was convicted in Utah of detonating pipe bombs at a store, auto dealership and an elementary school.

The bombings earned him the nickname "St. George Bomber."

In October 2008, he was released from federal prison. Riker's family apparently moved to Wind Lake a week ago.
