MADISON (WKOW) -- One group of kids was in singing spirits this weekend. All nine performing choirs from the Madison Youth Choirs belted out their best at Hilldale Mall on Saturday.
For five hours, the children's choirs gave early performances of their upcoming winter concerts. "It's a great dress rehearsal," said Tracy Marks-Gied, the executive director of MYC. "We're testing out songs we'll be performing in December and January. They're works in progress. They're certainly not polished or final, but it's a great experience for the kids to be able to sing in front of people."
This is the fourth annual event for the Sing-a-Thon. While it was free, shoppers passing in the mall were asked to donate if possible. The young singers have also been taking pledges.
About 350 boys and girls each year sing in the Madison Youth Choirs.
