Celebrating program that gives jobs to disabled students
MADISON (WKOW) -- On Friday night, the UW Veterans Hospital celebrated a program aimed at helping students with developmental disabilities find work.
It's the one year anniversary of Project Search.
Students in the Madison Metro School District with disabilities have been part of job training rotations in multiple areas across the VA Hospital including the clinic, medical library, and food services.
"Project Search is different because we focus on the students talents and their interests and place them in hospital jobs that much," said Michelle Ritt with Project Search.
Three students have recently been hired by the hospital.
