LOS ANGELES (WKOW) -- The vampire romance The Twilight Saga: New Moon sucked up a new record in its first weekend at the box office.
The movie, based on the hit novel series by Stephenie Meyer, brought in $140.7 million in its first three days and set an all-time high for its opening day sales with $72.7 million on Friday.
This broke the record of $67.2 million set by The Dark Knight in 2008.
Far behind the vampire flick was The Blind Side, a football drama that brought in $34.5 million.
