CAMBRIDGE (WKOW) -- Ron and Khristine Perks helped an 81-year-old Iowa woman 14-hours from her home.
Last month, Audrey Hogan left her New Albin, Iowa home at 6 a.m. to pick up a friend for a drive to Waterloo. She never showed up, though, and at 8 p.m. that night she walked into Chris' Curve Cafe in Cambridge and said she was lost.
Family members tell the Wisconsin State Journal that Hogan had been suffering from spells of minor dementia.
Fortunately, the cafe's owners, recognized Hogan's condition and pieced together enough information to contact her family.
The Cambridge Village Board passed a proclamation honoring the Perks for their kindness.
