"Extreme beer" pushes limits despite being illegal in 13 states

BOSTON (WKOW) -- Even though it's banned in 13 states, the makers of Samuel Adams beer have released an updated version of their biennial beer, Utopias.

It costs $150 a bottle and has a 27 percent alcohol by volume, which makes it the highest alcohol content of any beer on the market.

The container for the beer is a ceramic, copper bottle that looks like a tiny brew kettle.

The states in which Utopias is illegal include: Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and West Virginia.
