WILLMAR, Minn. (WKOW) -- A man who spent time at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison is now charged with raping, beating and robbing a 73-year-old woman in a Minnesota church.
Lindon Roy Knutson, 61, faces four felony charges.
Kandiyohi County prosecutor Connie Crowell says Knutson was on a tour at Crow River Lutheran Church in rural Belgrade on November 24th. Crowell says Knutson kicked his tour guide in the face, raped her and stole her purse.
The man has been in custody in three states, and his first rape conviction was in 1975 in Wisconsin's St. Croix County.
Bail was set at a half-million dollars.
