MADISON (WKOW) -- The Capitol City's newest park honors area veterans of the past, present and future.
It's located on the southwest side of Madison off of Star Spangled Trail.
The parks department began scouting out the location in 2004.
Veterans at Saturday's dedication said they are honored to be remembered in this way.
"I guess it's a privilege," said William Houston, who served in Vietnam. "It was a privilege to serve my country, it was an honor."
The dedication comes two days before the anniversary of bombing of Pearl Harbor.
VFW Post 7591 raised about $123,000 for the project.
