MOUNTAIN VIEW (WKOW) -- A new service in testing by Google could combine multiple newsources to help readers follow evolving stories.
The new project is called "Living Stories," and it would package stories from The New York Times and The Washington Post.
It's Google Inc.'s latest attempt to frame itself as an ally of the ailing newspaper industry.
Many of those newsources are uncertain of Google, depicting the company as a leech that has profited by showing snippets of their online stories and photographs.
Google is bundling ongoing stories under categories, such as health care reform, executive pay and the Washington Redskins. The Internet company, however, isn't paying newspapers for the content, yet.
