Man seriously beaten during Fitchburg home invasion


FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Fitchburg police are looking for four suspects after an early Friday morning home invasion on Belmar Circle.

Fitchburg officials tell 27 News officers were called to the 4500 block of Belmar Circle at about 12:48 a.m. Friday. Investigators discovered that four black men broke into the home and demanded money from the victims. One victim was beaten and taken to a local hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Three other adults and a small child were also home at the time of the break-in. No one else was hurt.

After the incident, the suspects ran away, heading north from the house. A K-9 unit was called in to track the suspects.

Based on evidence and an investigation of the crime scene, police do not think the break-in was a random act and that the victims were targeted by the suspects. No one is in custody and no further descriptions of the suspects is available.

Officers from the Madison Police Department, Madison Police K-9, and the Dane County Sheriff's Office helped with the investigation and search for the suspects.
