Pedestrian hit by alleged drunk driver

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police cited a man late Tuesday night for allegedly driving drunk and hitting a pedestrian.

Officers were called to the scene on the 1200 block of Moorland road just before 11:00 p.m.

The driver, 44-year-old Christopher P. Brugger of Madison, told officers he was driving along a dimly lit stretch of Moorland Road when he his a pedestrian who was walking along the right side of the road.

Brugger got out and called 911, then tried to render aid to the pedestrian, an 18-year-old man who was taken to the hospital with leg injuries.

Brugger told officers he had been out with friends and had a few beers. His blood alcohol concentration tested at .09.

Police cited Brugger for Causing Injury Operating While Intoxicated, and Cause Injury Operating While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Greater Than .08
