Fifteen people involved in downtown brawl

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police arrested two people early Sunday morning after a bar fight downtown.

It started around 2 a.m., when police say two men began verbally harassing a 20-year-old New Glarus woman on the 100 block of King Street.

Police say the verbal exchange turned violent, when one of the men hit the woman in the face. Witnesses say people started pouring out of local bars and restaurants, and at least 15 people got in on the fight.

A 29-year-old Madison man tried to stop the melee, but ended up with a beer bottle to his face, and later went to the hospital for ten stitches.

Police arrested Antonio Tecpoyotl Daniel, 23, of Madison and charged him with 2nd degree reckless injury and resisting arrest.

Adan Ollarzabal De La Cruz, 23, of Marshall was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
