NEW YORK (WKOW) -- The roofs of yellow taxi cabs will soon be the next place to catch works of modern art made by the likes of Yoko Ono, Alex Katz, and Shirin Neshat.
A Las Vegas-based company that sells advertising on cabs says it will display the art in January in place of typical advertisements.
As many as 500 cabs will display the pieces of art, a project that will cost about $100,000 in lost revenue. Each artist's work will appear on 160 cabs.
The Art Production Fund of New York selected the artists to create works that will sit on the passenger cabins.
