Dog helps save stroke victim's life

RUSHFORD, Minn. (WKOW) -- A dog from Rushford, Minnesota is being called a hero after helping save it's owner's life.

Priscilla Elit says she when she fell in her bathroom home, her dog Milkyway came to the rescue. She says Milkyway ran from the bathroom to her sister's door and scratched on the door until she came out. Her sister, Julie Chipperfield, then found her and called 911.

Doctors say Priscilla has a stroke and her dog's quick action saved her life.

"It gives me a sense of security to know she's lookin' out for us. She knows, and she intuitively knew something was wrong" Priscilla said.

Julie added, " They're not just a part of our family, they're our friends. They become our angels!"

Priscilla is back at home recovering with her sister and Milkyway, a 5-year-old Chihuahua-Corgi mix, by her side.
