MARSHFIELD (WKOW) -- A Marshfield Clinic doctor has been arrested for allegedly assaulting two female patients while they were sedated.
Police arrested the 47-year-old Marshfield man Monday following a three-month investigation.
Authorities say the alleged assaults took place between 2005 and 2007 when the doctor worked as a gastroenterologist. He was forced to resign from the clinic earlier this year.
In a statement, the clinic says it is "distressed" by the allegations and is cooperating with police, who are looking into several other assault complaints as well.
The Department of Regulation and Licensing is expected to hold a disciplinary hearing to decide if the doctor's license should be suspended or revoked.
