Oshkosh Corp. gets $290 million contract with Army
OSHKOSH (WKOW) -- The defense arm of Oshkosh Corp. has received another contract with the U.S. Army.
The company will get $290 million to build 725 heavy duty military trucks with large trailers. The special trucks will be used to transport weapons and supplies to the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq. They are also designed so a single soldier can load or unload large containers in five minutes.
Over the past year, Oshkosh Corp. has received contracts with the Defense Department to build more than 6,600 military trucks. Those contracts are worth $3.3 billion.
