MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police are searching for two men accused of starting a brawl at an east side bar Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at Murphy's Tavern on E. Washington Ave.
The bartender told officers he cut a patron off after the man tried to remove a sign that was hanging on the wall.
The patron became angry and responded by opening all of the beer taps and causing a mess.
The bartender grabbed the man, at which point the man's friend became involved. The two suspected punched and kicked the bartender and threw bottles and a pool cue at him.
The bartender called for police and some other customers intervened and threw the suspects out of the tavern.
The bartender suffered only minor injuries: cuts and scratches.
The two men are still on the loose. They're both described as black men between 20 and 30 years old, between 5'7"-5'8" with slender build and wearing dark clothing. One man had short hair and another sported longer hair.
