LOS ANGELES (WKOW) -- 'Avatar' remained in the top spot at the weekend box office for the fourth straight weekend.
The science-fiction epic took in $48.5 million for a domestic total of $429 million. Worldwide 'Avatar' has made $1.34 billion, second on the global revenue chart only to 'Titanic,' also directed by James Cameron, which took in $1.8 billion.
Among new movies at this weekend's box office, the vampire thriller 'Daybreakers' opened fourth with $15 million. 'Leap Year' finished sixth with $9.2 million and the teen comedy 'Youth in Revolt' finished ninth with $7 million.
