MADISON (WKOW)-- Over two days and just 5 hours of a call for donations, people around the Madison-area and even across the state stepped up to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
27 News teamed up with the Red Cross to offer an easy way for those wishing to help in the relief efforts. On Thursday, from 5 to 8pm, callers pledged more than $30,000.
The total jumped to more than $58,000 after a second 2-hour phone bank on Friday night. The Red Cross says those donations will go toward food, water and medical supplies.
If you would still like to donate, you can call 1-800-HELP NOW or click here to donate through the Red Cross website.
