DULUTH, Minn. (WKOW) -- The Evangelical Luthern Church in America are trying to work with U.S. Embassy officials in Haiti to recover the body of a Wartburg Seminary student killed in the earthquake earlier this month.
An ECLA spokesman told the Duluth News Tribune the church is hoping to retrieve the body of Ben Larson with the help of the embassy and U.S. Southern Command.
Larson, along with his wife and cousin, were in the same building in Port-au-Prince when it collapsed. The other two escaped alive but were unable to get to Larson and flew back to the United States last week.
Around 1,200 people attended a memorial service for Larson at Luther College in Iowa on Friday.
