ASPEN, Colorado (WKOW) -- Colorado will host its first cannabis festival in Aspen this spring, but it's only meant for approved growers to put their strains of marijuana to the test.
Fifty state-approved medical marijuana growers will compete for the Western Slope Cannabis Crown. The marijuana plants will be diagnostically tested for their THC levels, and an award will be given for "people's choice." Strains will be voted by and sold to patients with a medical marijuana prescription.
An organizer for the Cannabis Crown says 1,500 tickets have been sold for the two-day event, so far.
