PROVIDENCE (WKOW) -- A new book released this week profiles a Rhode Island nursing home where the staff say a resident pet cat can predict death.
The book, "Making Rounds with Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat" was written by Dr. David Dosa.
Staff claim they noticed that the cat, named 'Oscar', would lay beside patients who had just hours to live. No one can explain the cat's behavior but Dosa claims he has tallied about 50 correct calls by Oscar over the last five years.
Dosa is a professor at Brown University and also works at the nursing home that cares for patients with severe dementia.
