MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- A Middleton school teacher is suspended for what the district calls "adult content" on the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District's email network.
According to School Superintendent Donald Johnson, a middle school staff member has been placed on unpaid leave for violating the school's policy regarding the appropriate use of technology, which includes school email accounts.
Johnson says the email in question "does not involve children in any way."
"We acknowledge that incidents involving adult content material being transferred via district email occurred," said Michelle Larson, community relations specialist for the district, in a statement emailed. "As soon as administration became aware of it, we took expedient and appropriate action."
Larson confirmed that the staff member is on unpaid administrative leave while a full investigation is being completed.
Johnson says if the investigation reveals additional staff members were involved in the use of inappropriate content in school emails, they could face discipline as well.
