NEW YORK (WKOW) --The CEO of Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs will get a $9 million stock bonus for his performance last year.
Reporters found out about the bonus through public stock filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The CEO, Lloyd Blankfein, gets the bonus in company stock but can't cash in the shares for five years. He receives no cash bonus.
Other major banks are also paying bonuses in the form of company stock.
JPMorgan Chase said Friday that CEO Jamie Dimon received a $16 million stock bonus.
Blankfein's 2009 bonus is slightly more than that of Morgan Stanley CEO James P. Gorman, who received a stock bonus valued at $8.1 million.
