Magazine circulation falls 2.2 percent in late '09
NEW YORK (WKOW) -- The weak economy has put a damper on magazine sales, with circulation dropping more than 2 percent in the second half of 2009.
According to industry figures released Monday, single-copy sales, which are more lucrative for publishers, fell more than 9 percent.
The Audit Bureau of Circulations says overall magazine circulation fell 2.2 percent between July and December. Paid subscriptions fell 1.1 percent and single copy-sales at newsstands and other retailers were down 9.1 percent.
