NEW ORLEANS (WKOW) -- Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras ends when Lent begins. Despite freezing temperatures, Mardi Gras in New Orleans went right up until midnight.
Parades rolled until late Monday night, and people partied on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter until much later.
Revelers stacked ladders, chairs, and roped off areas along historic St. Charles Avenue to watch the festivities.
Mardi Gras started early with a variety of marching clubs. Following the bands, the Zulu and Rex parades.
