MADISON (WKOW) -- Leaders at a non-profit Madison television station hope this year's annual meeting wasn't their last.
WYOU in Madison had half of its funding cut for 2010.
The station has been providing education and equipment to the community for 36 years. It's a mission WYOU officials hope to continue despite the cuts.
"Whatever walk of life they happen to be in, WYOU provides the opportunity to have access to media and we also teach, a very important part of what we do is educate," said WYOU Executive Director Barbara Bolan
A bill in the state Assembly could restore funding to community media centers like WYOU.
WYOU is planning fundraisers and is looking at other ways to generate funds to continue programming into 2011.
