Spring primary results authenticated

MADISON (WKOW) -- Results from the February 16, 2010 spring primary election are official.

The chairman of the Government Accountability Board, Judge William Eich, signed canvass statements Friday morning, authenticating the races held for the offices of Court of Appeals Judge in District IV, and various Circuit Court Judge positions.

Nat Robinson, the Election Division Administrator, says a quick authentication is key. "Anytime we can get the official results out to the public as quickly as possible it gives them confidence that their government is open, is fair, and that we do the elections with the highest degree of integrity and transparency."

Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard received the most votes in the District IV Court of Appeals primary and will face Richland County Circuit Judge Edward Leineweber in the April 6 election.
