MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's mayor and school superintendent exchanged words, Saturday, for a good cause.
Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and Superintendent Dan Nerad were among the many competing in the 3rd Annual Scrabble for Literacy Tournament at Hilldale Mall.
The friendly word play raises money for a program that helps immigrants and families living in poverty with literacy.
"Impoverished parents for a number of reasons have a lower level of literacy and speak less to their children and less time on things that help their children become language learners," said organizer Patty LaCross
The Scrabble for Literacy event continues Sunday from 1pm to 4pm at the Hilldale Mall.
