MILWAUKEE (WKOW) A 23-year-old woman who graduated from Marquette University is OK after the Chilean earthquake.
Catherine Curley was able to get in contact with her family on Saturday morning several hours after the quake to say that the structure she was staying at in one of the poor neighborhoods in Santiago was still standing, but is without power or water.
A million people are estimated to be without power.
Curley's father, Michael Curley of Delafield, tells The Associated Press his daughter left for Chile on Jan. 6 and was supposed to start a job working with grade school children on Wednesday.
Nobody else in the building was seriously hurt.
