UPDATE: Teens charged in Aiken's death; Principal meeting with students

EDGERTON (WKOW) -- Two teens have been arrested in connection with the death of Alex Aiken, a 13-year-old boy who earlier this year overdosed on prescription drugs.

The suspects appeared in court in Rock County this morning.

The principal of Edgerton Middle School is going classroom-to-classroom today, talking to students about the importance of reporting dangerous behavior. The principal is letting students know that it is each of their responsibility to speak up about what they've seen, in regards to prescription drugs being available at school.

"I want you to know it's your responsibility," said principal Jerry Roth.  "I want you to come forward when those issues occur."

The chief deputy at the Rock County Sheriff's Dept. says she's never heard of such young teens charged with such serious crimes.

"If they're going to engage in this behavior, there will be serious consequences," said Chief Deputy Barbara Barrington-Tillman.
