Rep. Tammy Baldwin says health care reform is near
MADISON (WKOW) -- Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) is hopeful Congress will pass reformed health care legislation by April, she told 27 News.
Baldwin says it may take more than one bill to get everything passed, but she's confident reform is near.
"People are hurting right now, and we've got to fix this. The President, by focusing more attention on this, has given it more momentum moving through Congress. I really think that within the next few weeks, the House and Senate will finally come together and pass health care reform," said Baldwin.
Democratic leaders in Washington, D.C., are vowing to resurrect a comprehensive overhaul, with or without Republican support.
