MADISON (WKOW) -- From the Shamrock Shuffle to a Saint Patrick's Day parade, the city of Madison celebrates an Irish tradition.
It was a sea of green around the state Capitol for the annual Saint Patrick's Day parade Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds donned green and festive costumes for the 13th annual event. The day started out with the Shamrock Shuffle, and the parade around the square rounded out the afternoon.
Eric Gatzke of Waunakee says, "It's a good day to have an excuse to wear a goofy hat, even for people who are a little more timid. Everybody can do something a little crazy."
Parade proceeds were donated to the UW Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center and the organization Coaches Versus Cancer.
