WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- There was a major conservative rally planned to bring together 2,000 organizers of tea party political rallies.
The meeting on Saturday at a Wisconsin Dells resort was organized by conservative group Americans for Prosperity and attracted campaign representatives for many Republicans, including Scott Walker for governor and Dave Westlake for Senate.
Americans for Prosperity director Mark Block calls the meeting an unofficial Wisconsin tea party convention.
Block and other organizers of local tea party groups say they have no interest in starting a third political party.
