MADISON (WKOW) -- Friends and family are remembering Dr. Anthony Brown, a leader of the city's Equal Opportunities Commission.
According to a co-worker, Brown passed away Saturday following complications from transplant surgery.
Friends say he made a difference.
"One of the many true people that wasn't scared to speak his mind, and I'll miss him," said Brown's friend Rick Flowers. "We should be thankful for the moment that he was here. He has done a lot of good for the City of Madison."
Brown was also involved with NAACP and Urban League.
MADISON (WKOW) -- City leaders say Dr. Anthony Brown died following complications from transplant surgery.
Dr. Brown was executive director of Madison's Equal Opportunities Commission. The 59-year-old was extremely passionate about civil rights, involved with the NAACP and the National Urban League.
A coworker tells 27 News, Dr. Brown passed away Saturday at UW Hospital. He headed up the city's EOC for 10-years.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
