Local businesses to send 600 relief packages to Haitian orphanage

MADISON (WKOW) -- A local nonprofit has teamed up with a Christian radio station and WorldHelp to send 600 relief packages to an orphanage devastated by the earthquake in Haiti.

Next Step Ministries and Life 102.5 say Danita's Children desperately needs help more than two months after the earthquake.

The groups will collect the following items at the Dane County Coliseum on Friday, March 19 from 3:30-7:00 p.m.:

  • Small blanket
  • Band-Aids
  • Anti-bacterial ointment
  • Children's Tylenol
  • Soap
  • Combs
  • Crayons
  • Coloring books
  • Small toys and dolls
  • Hard candy

Following the drive, the group will host a concert featuring Christian bands including MercyMe, the David Crowder Band and others.
