MADISON (WKOW) -- Gov. Jim Doyle is heading to Italy and Tunisia for several business and government meetings.
Doyle left for the trade mission on Wednesday and is expected to return on March 26.
He is scheduled to meet with the international ship building firm that owns Marinette Marine and Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. The Governor's office says Doyle is working with them to secure a U.S. Navy contract to build 10 combat ships in Wisconsin.
Doyle's office says he's also meeting with several other Italian companies and their executives to talk about potential investments in Wisconsin. He's got a series of other similar meetings planned in Tunisia.
