Madison non-profit helping kids in Haiti

MADISON (WKOW) -- A local non-profit is sending more help to Haiti, focusing their efforts around children in the earthquake ravaged country.

People are packed boxes before a concert tonight at the Dane County Colosseum. They're filled with things like soap, toys and toothbrushes.

It's part of an effort by Next Step Ministries and a local radio station. In all, they are sending 600 boxes to a local a Haiti orphanage.

"We're hoping that people that come for the concert can help pack boxes and even if people aren't going to the concert and want to help, that would be great. But what we really need are more items," Andrew Atwell of Next Step Ministries.
