UPDATE: Mayor announces Census assistance centers across Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz completed his 2010 Census form during the news conference.

According to the Mayor's staff, it only took him 182 seconds to finish his questionnaire and put it in the envelope.

"It's important that every citizen in Madison fill out their Census forms," said Mayor Cieslewicz, "it matters when determining city and county services."

MADISON (WKOW) -- Mayor Dave Cieslewicz announced Monday morning that Madison residents can receive assistance in filling out the 2010 Census at 32 locations across the city.

The in-person Questionnaire Assistance Centers sites will be open until April 19.

Mayor Cieslewicz made the announcement at the South Madison Health & Family Center - Harambee. Harambee is one of the Questionnaire Assistance Centers, which opened this week.

A Telephone Questionnaire Assistance line will remain available through July 30. Anyone can call 866-872-6868 for assistance in English or 866-928-2010 for assistance in Spanish.
