UPDATE: Weekend condo fire caused by child playing with toaster
MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Fire Department investigators have determined a fire at a condo last week was set by a toddler playing with a toaster in the kitchen.
Authorities say the April 3 fire at a home on Treichel St. started when a 2-year-old child put the bread carriage down on a toaster, burning items around it including paper towels, cabinets and countertops.
The fire caused $10,000 in damage, which was limited thanks to two sprinkler heads that activated in time to contain the fire.
