Spectrum brands moving HQ to Madison

ATLANTA (WKOW) -- Spectrum Brands announced Thursday it will be moving its headquarters from Atlanta back to Madison.

The company, which used to be called Rayovac, moved its headquarters to Atlanta in 2004 after turning Madison-based Rayovac Corp. into a consumer products company. Carey Phelps, the company's VP of Investor Relations says there are 23 corporate positions in Atlanta and some will be transitioned to Madison over time, but those plans are still being worked out.

The largest business segment in the Spectrum Brands , Global Batteries & Personal Care, is already in Madison. For fiscal 2009, it delivered approximately 60 percent of Spectrum Brand's sales.

Dave Lumley, who has served as president of the Global Batteries & Personal Care division, has been named Spectrum's new CEO. He is replacing Kent Hussey, who worked for Spectrum Brands for nearly 14 years and served as CEO since May 2007.
