MADISON (WKOW)-- UW-Madison Police hold bike safety day this Saturday.
The Habush Habush & Rottier Charitable Foundation will continue its statewide tour to provide children with free bike helmets at the Bike Safety Day. The first fifty children will receive a free helmet on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event runs 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 24 at Eagle Heights Community Center located at 611 Eagle Heights in Madison.
Since 1999, the Habush firm's charitable funds have distributed nearly 75,000 bicycle helmets to children throughout the State of Wisconsin.
Researchers have found that wearing a helmet can reduce the severity of brain injury by as much as 88 percent.
