GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Some say it's more than 40 years over due. Wisconsin veterans of the Vietnam War will be coming to Lambeau Field for the welcome home they never got.
Friday kicks off a weekend long event called LZ Lambeau. It honors Vietnam vets for their service and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Doug Bradley of Madison served in Vietnam in 1970. He says it's what vets like him have waited decades for.
"Healing is important no matter how far away you are from the experience, there is still healing the country needs to do and the vets as well," Bradley said.
LZ Lambeau will also preview the documentary Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories. Bradley joined more than a hundred other vets across the state, telling their stories of battle and their experiences when they got home.
