MADISON (WKOW) -- Thirteen out of 1,700 applicants made the cut and made it to Monday morning's swearing-in ceremony, in the assembly chamber at the Capitol.
The group is now set to begin police training. Madison Police Department Chief Noble Wray cites the size of the applicant pool when describing the quality of the group of 13 that made the cut.
"We've got some really top-quality candidates that are coming through, that'll be hitting the streets of Madison in about eight or nine months," Wray said.
