SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- South Korea is staging a large-scale military exercise off its west coast.
Warships have been firing guns and dropping anti-submarine bombs in a show of force that comes amid rising tensions with North Korea. A multinational team of investigators has determined it was a North Korean torpedo that sank a South Korean warship in March, killing 46 sailors.
Pyongyang has warned that such South Korean exercises would bring the Koreas to the brink of war and reacted swiftly.
It's also warning of "prompt physical strikes" if any South Korean ships enter what it says are its waters in a disputed area off the west coast of the peninsula.
