MADISON (WKOW) -- It's not your ordinary art project.
It's called a clay stomp. Students at Van Hise Elementary school raised money to bring artist Joel Pfeiffer to school. They literally got to stomp on clay: to create a mural the students will hang in the front of their school.
Beth Cantwell, the art teacher at Van Hise elementary, and organizer of the Clay Stomp, says, "One thing that's so great about this event is that they have permission to get dirty. And they have permission to get their teachers dirty, which is always exciting when you're an elementary student!"
Teachers say the opportunity to do this outside art work didn't come easy. The students worked for a year to raise $10,000 dollars for the project.
