MADISON (WKOW) -- These four-legged creatures usually aren't features on downtown Madison streets.
But Saturday, cows were the feature! It's called Cows on the Concourse.
For the past 30 years, the event has kicked off June Dairy Month in Wisconsin. The free event highlights petting zoos in downtown Madison, entertainment, food, even a mooing contest.
Marjorie Stieve, the Cows on the Concourse chairwoman, says, "All the families come everyday, they want to pet the baby calves, and everybody wants to know all about cows and cow production, breeds, ages, it shows what's great about the Wisconsin dairy industry."
There'll be dairy events throughout the state during the entire month of June.
